The last and largest of the four fashion capitals, where the season is settled and the houses show at their full scale.
Paris closes the ready-to-wear season and carries the greatest concentration of major houses, which means the shows that determine the commercial direction of the season are almost all held here. Presentations run across the city over nine days, in the Tuileries, the Grand Palais, private hôtels particuliers and locations that are announced only shortly beforehand. Movement between them is the practical difficulty: the schedule is tight, the venues are dispersed and the traffic is at its worst precisely when the shows begin. Around the calendar, the houses run private client programmes, the salons receive individually, and the couture ateliers hold appointments that have nothing to do with the runway. For most private clients the private-appointment side of the week is the substantive part, and the shows themselves are secondary.

Why it matters
Paris is where the houses conduct their most significant private client relationships in person, and the appointments arranged around the shows carry more commercial weight for those clients than the runway does. The city is also at its most socially concentrated during the week, with the art and design calendar running alongside. Attending well requires an itinerary built around fixed show times and a realistic view of Parisian traffic.

Arrival by air
- LBG — Paris Le Bourget Europe's principal business aviation field; twenty-five minutes to the centre outside peak hours.
- CDG — Paris Charles de Gaulle Full commercial connectivity, with private terminal handling available.
Helicopter. Rotations from Le Bourget to the Issy heliport are available but rarely improve on a well-planned ground transfer within the city itself.
