The most significant concours in the world, judged on the eighteenth fairway at Pebble Beach on the closing Sunday of Car Week.
The concours closes Car Week and is the event the rest of it is built around. Cars are judged on the eighteenth fairway with the Pacific behind them, in classes that run from pre-war coachbuilt bodies to post-war competition machinery, and the standard of restoration required to compete is absolute. Entry is by application to the selection committee and is refused far more often than it is granted. For an owner, showing here is the recognition that matters most in the collector world; for a visitor, the field assembled on the fairway on that Sunday morning is not reproduced anywhere else. The dawn arrival of the cars onto the grass, before the crowds, is the part of the day that regulars protect.
