Monaco Yacht Show
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Monte Carlo · September · Subject to availability
Late September — dates to be confirmed
Four days in Port Hercule where the superyacht industry conducts most of its year's serious business in public view.
The Monaco Yacht Show is the industry's principal marketplace, and unlike most trade gatherings it takes place entirely in the open, in a harbour that fills with more than a hundred yachts of significant size. Shipyards, brokers, designers, naval architects and the specialist supply chain are all present within a few hundred metres of one another, and the compression is the point: a week of meetings that would otherwise take a quarter is completed in four days. The show is genuinely commercial rather than ceremonial. New builds are unveiled here, brokerage transactions are advanced here, and the tender and toy displays along the quays have become an event in their own right. Around it, the principality runs a dense evening programme, and the Riviera in late September is at its most agreeable — the summer crowds gone, the water still warm.

Why it matters
For any principal considering a build, a charter or a change of vessel, the show compresses the entire market into one harbour at one time, with the yards' technical teams present rather than represented. It is also the year's most efficient point at which to compare vessels physically, which is not otherwise possible without a great deal of travel. The surrounding evening programme is where much of the substantive introduction actually happens.
How access is arranged

Suggested itinerary
- 01 Day One Arrival and an afternoon walking the quays before the schedule tightens. The first evening is the most useful for informal introductions.
- 02 Day Two Scheduled viewings across the harbour, with lunch held aboard rather than ashore; the quays are not quickly crossed at midday.
- 03 Day Three Technical meetings with the yards, followed by dinner along the Cap or at Èze above the coast.
- 04 Day Four Closing viewings and departure, or a transfer along the coast for a quieter few days once the harbour empties.

Frequently asked
Is attendance possible without an existing broker relationship?
Yes. Introductions to yards and brokerage houses are arranged in advance, which is the practical route for a principal attending for the first time.
How much of the show is worth seeing?
A structured two days covers the market properly. Four days of unstructured walking is a common and avoidable mistake.
Is the Riviera busy at this point in the year?
Considerably less than in August, though Monaco itself is full for the duration and accommodation should be settled by the spring.
What does Scott & Vale arrange?
